All those numbers in Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan’s mini budget speech seemed to take their toll on President Jacob Zuma, who took the opportunity to nap in Parliament.
Twitter users were not about to let him sleep it off, though. Here are some of the funniest responses:
ALL MEDIA: Msholozi was NOT sleeping. He was applying his mind to a dream. He has big dreams. Sometimes they go on for 15 minutes. pic.twitter.com/AeT3KGNyQ8

If u are not into numbers & u don't know how to cut ur water usage by 15%, it's okay, just cut shower times and use grey water for garden^TK pic.twitter.com/xrzvLIgowd

Zuma did not 'doze off' in parliament. He was robbed of oxygenated air which was captured by the Ruperts #TweetLikePaidTwitter

How's this for taking "sleeping on the job" to a whole new level. https://t.co/uGKC3kIrCl

In other work places, sleeping on the job is classified as misconduct and can be a dismissable offense. Just not 4our parliamentarians&Zuma.

Great #midtermbudget speech by Pravin Gordhan! Was impressed how no ministers fall asleep during the budgets speech these days #zumasleeping pic.twitter.com/HzJT242Wcc

"I concentrate better with my eyes closed" is the only valid reason why Zuma was sleeping during the speech.

This applies to me too.
Chief Zuma is tired! He should be given the back seat. ?? https://t.co/78OlXUELnm

Maybe if President Zuma don't issue all the late night statements, he won't have to doze off in Parliament. pic.twitter.com/ieNk3hLj1j
