Cop nabbed for drunk driving

A Mitchells Plain policeman was arrested for drunk driving after he crashed his vehicle, Western Cape police said today.

Captain FC van Wyk said an unmarked Mitchells Plain police vehicle had crashed into an Opel Corsa bakkie in Vanguard Drive, Weltevreden Valley yesterday.

The driver of the police vehicle, a 26-year-old constable, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

He was released on R500 bail and would appear in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate’s Court on July 11.
