Two people died when the light aircraft crashed in Randfontein in Gauteng today.

“Paramedics responded to the scene and found the plane had crashed into a shack,” Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said.

“The pilot and co-pilot (a man and a woman) were killed on impact.”

He said two young children were sleeping in the shack when the plane crashed into it. “They emerged unharmed and were treated by paramedics for shock.”

The cause of the accident would be investigated by the Civil Aviation Authority, Wicks said.
