After a lengthy wait the ANC finally announced the names of its new National Executive Committee (NEC).

Voted in by the ruling party's highest decision making body, the 80 person NEC was announced just after 3am on Thursday, six days after its 54th National Conference officially began.

With very few delegates still milling around in the plenary hall in Nasrec, Johannesburg, the NEC was announced by the party's electoral commission.

235 ANC members were nominated for the party's highest decision making body outside of conference.

Here are the names of those ANC members who will serve on the NEC for the next five years. Some notable omissions include former Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande and struggle stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.

Moja Love's drug-busting show, Sizokuthola, is back in hot water after its presenter, Xolani Maphanga's assault charges of an elderly woman suspected of dealing in drugs upgraded to attempted murder. In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
