Mamelodi Sundowns are back in the CAF Champions League. This after AS Vita of Congo, who knocked The Brazilians out of the competition in April, were disqualified by CAF.
CAF confirmed today that AS Vita were disqualified from the Champions League due to the club fielding an ineligible player – Idrissa Traore – who also played in the second leg of Sundowns’ exit.

In statement released on their website, CAF said that Traore picked up a four-match suspension at his previous club, Stade Malien, but only served one match of his suspention before AS Vita fielded him in the preliminary rounds of the competetion.
Pitso Mosimane’s men will now be in action as early as June 17 where they will be alongside Zamalek (Egypt), ES Setif (Algeria) and Enyimba (Nigeria) in group B.
Group A will feature Al Ahly (Egypt), ASEC Mimosas (Ivory Coast), Wydad Athletic Club (Morocco) and Zesco (Zambia).
