#ZumaMustFall: Is Nene the final straw for South Africans?

President Jacob Zuma's recall of Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene last night seemed to be the final straw for many South Africans.

#ZumaMustFall has been trending on social media site Twitter since Zuma announced that ANC MP David van Rooyen would be replacing Nene.

In a statement released by the presidency, Zuma didn't give details, but said: “Nene has done well since his appointment as minister of finance during a difficult economic climate.”

Nene will be deployed to another “strategic position”.





The rand took a hit following Zuma's statement and by 10am was trading at R15.05 to the US Dollar.
