Three political parties are set to appear in the Constitutional Court to appeal the ruling of the Electoral Court in its refusal to extend the deadline for parties to submit their candidate lists ahead of the upcoming national and provincial elections.

The ConCourt on 8 May 2024 will hear and deal with the three applications of the African Congress for Transformation (ACT), the Labour Party of SA (Labour Party) and the Afrikan Alliance of Social Democrats (AASD), who argue that the judgment dated 15 April 2024 from the Electoral Court was an error.
