Amidst widespread speculation regarding Inno Morolong's recent arrest and its potential impact on her scheduled boxing match against Ashleigh Ogle at the International Convention Centre in Durban tonight, Studex Celebrity Boxing (SCB) issued a media statement earlier today.

Without disclosing the timing of the decision, SCB confirmed Morolong's removal from the event. The ambiguous statement provided no clarity on whether this constituted disqualification, citing unforeseen circumstances.

City Press sought comment and clarification from SCB regarding the rationale behind Morolong's removal. However, their publicist informed them that Tumelo Ramaphosa, who oversaw the match, was unavailable for calls and requested written queries instead.

In interviews with City Press earlier this week, both Morolong and Ogle expressed eagerness for the event, with Morolong mentioning her rigorous training regimen. However, on the same evening, Morolong was arrested and later released on R2000 bail.

As of press time, SCB had not issued further statements. Questions about whether Morolong's arrest factored into the decision remained unanswered. An article by zimoja.co.za suggested that Morolong's removal stemmed from allegations of bullying by former model Babalwa Mneno.

Morolong's publicist stated that her absence was due to a leg injury sustained during training, preventing her from travelling to Durban.

Despite these developments, SCB announced Morolong's replacement with 26-year-old Cassandra Le Roux, a veteran in mixed martial arts since age 14.

SCB extended well wishes to Morolong and expressed hopes for future collaborations.
