Kwaito star Mandoza has passed on, sources close to his family have confirmed.

He was 38.

Mandoza (real name Mduduzi Tshabalala), had been suffering from cancer, which had recurred.

He performed at the Thank You SABC music concert at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, last Saturday, where he thanked fans for their prayers.

Mandoza’s wife, Mpho, told City Press last week that they were taking it one day at a time while her husband was being treated.

Asked how their children were coping, she said: “They seem to be fine with the grace of the Lord.”

Mpho told You magazine: “It was like history was repeating itself because it sounded very similar to the last time.”
