After declining an offer to return to Metro FM last year, Luthando "LootLove" Shosha, her recent return to the airwaves has coincided with her first gig as the station's music awards show host, making it even more memorable.
On Tuesday Shosha was announced as co-host of this year’s Metro FM Music Awards alongside Tebogo “Proverb” Thekisho in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, on Freedom Day, 27 April.

The mother of two shared her excitement at being one of the hosts of this year's awards, saying she not only was she honored but that this was a huge stepping stone in her career.
She said:
She has joined the station’s afternoon drive show, The Touch Down alongside Thabo "Tbo Touch" Molefe.
Speaking to her former Live Amp co-host Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock on his podcast The Shady Phodcast, last week Shosha explained that she left Metro FM in 2020 because she felt she needed to "grow and no longer wanted to be a co-host".
She explained:
The broadcaster said she wanted her own show, on a weekday slot. But when she left she had made peace with the fact that she would not get what she wanted.
“When I released it [the ambition], when I let it go, something bigger came. When I left Metro, I had no other radio gig planned, there was nothing else I was trying to do.”
She hosted Apple Music's Africa Now Radio since June 2021 following Nigerian musician Florence “DJ Cuppy” Otedola’s departure. She said it was the easiest thing she had ever done and "the nicest money" she made on the radio.

The presenter also shared on the podcast that Metro FM called her last year with an offer, which she declined "because it was not good enough". She added that survival in the entertainment industry required "a willingness to go hungry and know your value" because it was easy for others to “prey on your desperation because no one is trying to pay.”
The Metro FM Awards, which will be hosted by the Mpumalanga provincial government, are sponsored by Motsepe Foundation and Santam. Winners in each category will receive R50000 and the song of the year winner will walk away with R150 000, courtesy of the Motsepe Foundation.
The awards will be broadcast live on SABC 1 at 8pm with Nomalanga Shozi and Sabelo "DJ Sabby" Mtshali on the black carpet, while Lamiez Holworthy and Zanele Potelwa host the green room. Tickets are available on Computicket from R300.
