56% of SA women say they've experienced sexual violence while using taxis

Women are exposed to gender-based violence in the form of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and rape when using public transportation in South Africa, a survey has revealed. 

A research conducted by ActionAid SA in 2016, says 56 percent of women experience violence on taxis. 

With the soaring numbers of sexual violence and gender-based violence in South Africa, the campaign aims to raise awareness among taxi drivers and commuters about the violence and harassment women face when using public transport. Watch for more.
