Former Miss SA Tatum Keshwar spent most of yesterday fielding calls from journalists, colleagues and friends after a media report about her supposed wedding to ex-boyfriend Duduzane Zuma went viral.
The report, which originated from Media24 wires, said Keshwar had tied the knot with President Jacob Zuma’s son at a lavish wedding in Durban. However, the news site had the bride wrong. She was actually Durban woman Shanice Stork.
Attempts to speak to Keshwar last night were unsuccessful. Her cellphone was switched off and she did not reply to several voice messages left for her.
Earlier in the day, Keshwar tweeted that she wished the media would get their story straight.
“I’m not getting married today. All these journos who have been calling me non-stop, clearly have my contact, made no effort to confirm the story before they went to print.”
Keshwar and Zuma were at some point tipped to get married. There were even reports that the couple were living together in Johannesburg.
But yesterday, Zuma tied the knot with the relatively unknown Stork. Their wedding reportedly began with a chapel service at the New Apostolic Church in Newlands East, north of Durban, before proceeding to the luxurious Fairmont Zimbali Resort on the North Coast for the reception. A number of VIP guests, including President Zuma, politicians and celebrities, were said to be among the 500 people who attended the wedding.
The groom wore a navy slim-fit tuxedo with a black bow tie, while Stork wore a sweetheart neckline white mermaid gown adorned with crystals.
The second leg of the wedding, the traditional ceremony, is expected to take place at the president’s homestead in KwaNxamalala village in Nkandla today
