Men in the ANC who influence decisions taken within structures of the ANCWL must be identified, confronted and told their conduct is not acceptable. The issue has been raised here; it must be raised organisationally.

‘It has always been an opportune time for a female president. It’s not a question of whether women are ready to fight for 2017. From its founding, the ANC has had gallant, strong women like Charlotte Maxeke.
It will also have to be the contribution of women in the structures that gets us there. It is in the branches where that will be fine-tuned.
We must anticipate where the difficulties will be and come up with answers. But the important thing is to remove this backward-way thinking by some men.
