Ten weeks since he announced the implemented of a stringent lockdown to curb the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus, President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced an easing of some of these measures from level 4 to level 3 as of June 1.
Although some of the restrictions would ease and some sectors would open, Ramaphosa said high-risk economic activities such as bars, restaurants and taverns would remain closed except for delivery.
He added that the hosting of conferences, events such as entertainment and sporting events, and services such as hairdressing and beauty salons would still be prohibited when level three began next week.
