Bathabile ‘Dodging’ Dlamini taken to task for missing important meetings

Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini was once again a no-show, when she failed to attend Parliament’s select committee on social services meeting yesterday, ahead of the department’s budget vote and annual performance plan.

Her deputy, Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, was also nowhere to be seen.

The DA’s spokesperson on social development, Bridget Masango, said that “this follows a trend of ‘Dodging’ Dlamini’s old antics of avoiding vital parliamentary meetings and therefore accountability”.

On Tuesday the Select Committee on Social Services was meant to be briefed on the department’s budget vote and annual performance plan. this meeting was cancelled earlier because neither the minister or her Bogopane-Zulu showed up.
