The Pretoria High Court has ruled in favour of the family of Collins Khosa, who died after allegedly being assaulted by SA National Defence Force (SANDF) members for violating lockdown regulations, as Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) officials allegedly stood by and watched, and has ordered their suspension with pay.
The suspension is in effect pending an investigation of both the SANDF officers and the JMPD members.
Judge Hans Fabricius ruled in favour of the urgent application brought by Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi on behalf of Khosa’s family.
