A weekend tribute to the late legendary jazz musician Hugh Masekela was held at the University of Johannesburg’s Campus to pay homage to South Africa's artistic icon. 

Masekela was honoured with a musical tribute with various musicians such as Ringo Madlingo, Lira, Thandiswa Mazwai performing at the memorial.

Hundreds gathered to celebrate the life of Bra Hugh.

The musical memorial marks the final public ceremony celebrating Bra Hugh, among the mourners were Don Mathera, Sipho Mabuse, minster of arts and culture Nathi Mthethwa and jazz musician Dorothy Masuka.
