The man at the centre of the information regarding 72 alleged suspicious transactions involving the Gupta family said his organisation would continue to expose financial crimes to protect the integrity of South Africa’s financial system.

Murray Michell, director of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), said this in the centre’s annual report for the 2015-2016 financial year – which was recently handed in to Parliament.

A high court application, filed by Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan on Friday, featured R6.8 billion worth of transactions involving the Gupta family that are under scrutiny.
