accreditation

Pretoria – A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an ANC member in Pretoria.

Simon Modihe was shot while he was waiting for the ANC to announce that Thoko Didiza was its mayoral candidate for the city of Tshwane on June 19.

Modihe was with a group of supporters outside the Tshwane Events Centre (formerly Pretoria Showgrounds) when two men reportedly walked up to the ANC group and opened fire on them.

Police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza said the man (36) was arrested in Pretoria yesterday.

The murder of the ANC member was one of four deaths in a week that saw violent unrest in the capital city.
