Police Minister Bheki Cele has appointed the Independent Police Investigative Directorate’s chief financial officer as its new acting head.
Victor Ofenste Senna, who currently holds the position of the chief financial officer of Ipid, has been appointed with effect from March 1.
Senna (40) was appointed as the chief financial officer of Ipid in February, after serving as the chief director of budget and revenue at the Gauteng department of health for a period of two years; and prior to that having served as general manager finance at the South Africa Social Security Agency for a period of two years. Senna worked as director for finance for the department of science and technology for a period of eight years.
He has been appointed for a period of three months.
“All that is needed at this level of governance is wisdom and understanding in carrying the country’s fundamental mandate as directed by the constitution, Mr Senna must take priority in ensuring that the Ipid remains Independent and discharge its operational mandate accordingly without fear, favour or prejudice.” said Cele.
