There were mixed reactions from around the world as Americans voted in one of the most unlikely candidates to have run for the position of president of the United States.
The White House will now be under the rule of businessman-turned-politician Donald Trump.
Shortly after Hillary Clinton conceded defeat, Americans took to Twitter to voice their outrage and concern over their newly elected president.
But some decided to find solace in humour to get them through what will no doubt be an interesting four years of Trump rule.
