Sars fails in bid to block bundle of documents in Adrian Lackay case

Former South African Revenue Service spokesperson Adrian Lackay has won the right to include a disputed bundle of documents in his constructive dismissal case before the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration.

Sars had objected to the inclusion of the documents, arguing that they were irrelevant.

But in a ruling in Johannesburg on Monday, Commissioner Joyce Nkopane dismissed Sars’s objection, saying it was premature to judge the relevance of the documents.
