The Battleground Gauteng debate will take place on April 16.

The countdown to the great political debate, Battleground Gauteng, is on. If you can't make it to Media Park, fear not. It will be streamed live here.

Join us at 6.30pm on April 16 or catch it on our Twitter, YouTube and Facebook platforms.

This political debate, which is hosted by City Press and Rapport goes beyond the superficial electioneering to ask our public servants why we should vote for them. The debate, which recognises that Gauteng is likely to be the most hotly contested province, has invited those major parties with seats in the provincial legislature to come and make their case.

The ANC, DA, IFP, EFF and FF+ will all send senior representatives to answer voter questions and tell us why we should give them our vote.

City Press editor in chief Mondli Makhanya and Waldimar Pelser, editor of Rapport, will facilitate the discussion.

If you would like to have your question asked you can SMS your question to City Press on 35697 using the keyword Battleground. SMSes cost R1.50. Alternatively, leave your questions in the comment section below this article.

Moja Love's drug-busting show, Sizokuthola, is back in hot water after its presenter, Xolani Maphanga's assault charges of an elderly woman suspected of dealing in drugs upgraded to attempted murder. In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
