According to Kaizer Chiefs star attacker Khama Billiat, the Nedbank Cup Last 32 game against third-tier side Tornado FC will be a test of mental strength.

Billiat, who was speaking to the media at Nedbank’s headquarters in Sandton, Johannesburg on Thursday night after the Nedbank draw, warned that players tend to take the “smaller teams” lightly.

“Chiefs is a big team, everyone wants to beat us. It is a great feeling for them to beat Chiefs but on the other side it’s also a great feeling for us to always win games,” he said confidently.

“So it’s going to be a mental game, we have to be strong on the day, you know how it is as players, we tend to take it easy and go there [during the match] thinking is going to be easy.”

“I hope on the day we are all going to be mentally strong, mentally prepared and ready for the game,” he said.

In other games, log leader Orlando Pirates will travel to Limpopo to face the struggling Black Leapards.

Chippa United will host Mamelodi Sundowns and 2017/18 season Nedbank Cup champions Free State Stars will lock horns at home with National First Division (NFD) outfit Richards Bay FC.

The Last 32 fixtures will be played from January 23-29, with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) to announce exact dates, venues and kick-off times in due course.

This spectacular competition features 32 teams from the Premier Soccer League division, National First Division and the ABC Motsepe League. It also includes eight teams from the SAFA structures.

On Saturday Amakhosi will face Elgeco Plus of Madagascar at Moses Mabhida at 8.15pm for their CAF Confederation Cup first round.

In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
