Judging by the digging in of heels in Bloemfontein, it will take a legal intervention for Cheetahs lock Sintu Manjezi to realise his dream of joining the Bulls at the end of this season.

The 25-year-old was an integral part of the Cheetahs’ win of the Currie Cup last year, and a towering influence for them in the Pro14. He has been linked with Bulls’ new director of rugby Jake White’s facelift of the Loftus Versfeld roster for a while, with talk that Western Province and the Lions have also been sniffing around.

But the Cheetahs claim that Manjezi has accepted a two-year extension on his contract, which expires on October 31. His agent, Dane Galley, says Manjezi has not signed a new deal.
