Nedbank Cup defending champions TS Galaxy will put their title on the line when the National First Division campaigners get this year’s edition of the Ke Yona tournament under way on February 5.

The PSL on Tuesday confirmed the dates, venues and kick-off times of the R7 million competition.

The GladAfrica Championship hopefuls will be away to Chippa United away at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

This will be the first time that Galaxy coach Dan “Dance” Malesela faces his former club since the trigger-happy Chippa boss Siviwe Mpengesi fired him as the coach of the Chilli Boys three matches into the 2018/19 season.

Galaxy – who shocked Kaizer Chiefs in last season’s final to become the first lower division side to claim the lucrative trophy – are among the NFD’s eight representatives in the competition.

The tournament also features eight sides from the third tier ABC Motsepe league, while premier division sides enter automatically.

The last fixtures of the last 32 will be played on February 11,” the PSL confirmed in a statement.

It will be an intriguing end to the first round with Polokwane City set to host Baroka FC in the Limpopo derby at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on that Tuesday night.

Moja Love's drug-busting show, Sizokuthola, is back in hot water after its presenter, Xolani Maphanga's assault charges of an elderly woman suspected of dealing in drugs upgraded to attempted murder. In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
