Information coming out from this morning’s Confederation of African Football (CAF) executive committee meeting is that Safa president Danny Jordaan has been appointed as one of the continental body’s three vice presidents.

The move sees the departure of Nigeria’s Amaju Pinick.

It has been rumoured for several weeks now that CAF president Ahmad Ahmad would replace Pinnick following a falling out between the two which was exacerbated last week when Pinnick was said to have reacted angrily to CAF responding to a request for information from a Nigerian investigative body that is probing alleged financial impropriety by the Nigerian Football Federation.

According to well-placed sources, the formal announcement of Jordaan’s appointment is expected to be made at a CAF press conference later this evening.

Jordaan declined to comment, awaiting the formal announcement at the press conference by CAF president Ahmad.
