Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis is the latest speaker to be confirmed for the World Football Summit Africa, which takes place in Durban in March.

The recently minted CAF women’s coach of the year will be among a group of females who have been lined up for the two-day conference.

The organisers have also named the president of the Sierra Leone Football Association, Isha Johansen, as the other female speaker at the March 17-18 event.

Johansen, who sits on Fifa’s member associations committee, has been at the helm of her federation since 2013 and she has even been touted as a potential first woman leader of world football governing body Fifa.

In Durban, Ellis and Johansen will join a programme that is overflowing with the who’s who of international football.

Some of the other prominent female leaders who will address the conference include Fifa secretary-general Fatma Samoura and KwaZulu-Natal sports MEC Hlengiwe Mavimbela.

Apart from Ellis, South Africa will have a strong representation of other speakers in the form of Bafana Bafana legends Benni McCarthy, Sibusiso Zuma and Safa president Danny Jordaan, as well as KwaZulu-Natal premier Sihle Zikalala, whose provincial government is the main partner of the event.
