Two-time MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) champions Lamontville Golden Arrows are travelling to Spain after winning the title last month.

And Arrows' 19-year-old Thabani Zuke is hoping the Spain tour will improve his football ability.

Zuke said that he hopes the experience of playing in one of the greatest football nations will inspire him and his teammates to be better versions of themselves.

“I hope that my talent will be seen by other people outside the country and learn to play football better,” he said.

The first time Abafana Bes’thende won the Championship they went on tour to the Netherlands in 2016.

Tomorrow, the Durban side will upon arrival in Spain, attend a La Liga match between Spanish giants Real Madrid and Girona at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

Zuke and co will rub shoulders with some of the best footballers in the world.

They will have a training session at Real Madrid Sport City and Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday and also visit Barcelona’s home, the 99 354 seater Camp Nou, on Wednesday.

On Monday, the Vusumuzi Vilakazi’s charges will finally show their talent when they go head-to-head against U19 Rayo Vallecona who are playing in the Segunda Division, La Liga 2.

The second match will be a much-anticipated clash against Barcelona reserves on Thursday and their last match of the tour will be against Espanyol reserves next Monday.

Arrows sealed the Championship crown after wining 11 impressive games – only losing and drawing two.

They will be hoping to bring the title home after Mamelodi Sundowns’ reserves side clinched the MultiChoice International Challenge trophy last year in Netherlands.

Meanwhile, the new MultiChoice Diski Shield was launched early this month. It is an expansion of the MDC.

The winners of the MultiChoice Diski Shield will receive a trophy and R150 000 towards a football development initiative for a local community of their choice.

It will begin on April 7 and Zuke is confident that Arrows will have a better chance to win the trophy.

Moja Love's drug-busting show, Sizokuthola, is back in hot water after its presenter, Xolani Maphanga's assault charges of an elderly woman suspected of dealing in drugs upgraded to attempted murder. In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
