TS Galaxy have not ruled out the possibility of losing their emerging stars following the team’s exploits in the Nedbank Cup.
The NFD club’s owner Tim Sukazi and head coach Dan “Dance” Malesela conceded that their players have made an impression and that will make it difficult for the club to hold onto to their current squad that upstaged powerhouse Kaizer Chiefs in the Ke Yona final at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.
“I’m being realistic. The biggest possibility is that we may lose players. That’s the reality.
“Some of the players will be signed by PSL clubs and obviously they stand to benefit financially,” conceded Malesela, adding that he will sit down with his boss as early as next week to discuss the future.

But Sukazi said they had long prepared for the eventualities.
“We have worked miracles before and we are really not too worried. When players find opportunities, they have worked for it. You should allow them to grow in life,” he said as a matter of fact.
“I can rest assure everyone that I will still assemble a good team. We did our reinforcements already in January. We signed players for next season. We plan way ahead.
“I am quite comfortable that if there will be suitors or clubs that are in interested in the current compliment. We’ll put another good team maybe even better now with experience.
“I’ll always afford our boys with opportunities.”
Sukazi recalled how he started the team from scratch six weeks before the NFD campaign kicked off.
“When we got the licence to play in the professional ranks, we were authorised with effective from July 2018 – by which time the fixtures were out and we had six weeks. I didn’t have players and a coach – it was just me and the authorisation from the league. We had to assemble a team in no time.”
As for how Galaxy will reward the champions, the youthful boss said: “We are not big talkers at Galaxy. We are humble. I did say that if we win this cup, our boys will be rewarded handsomely. We have never spoken too big about money ... but they deserve it.”
He said a committee would be constituted and would work out something.
“We are not in situation where I’d say we need this money at all costs. Yes money is necessary for a project like this has got a future.”
The Mpumalanga outfit have also qualified for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup by virtue of winning the national league cup.
On juggling between the NFD and the second tier continental club competition, Sukazi said a proper plan was needed to navigate between the two assignments.
“We might be inexperienced for now, but certainly we’ll learn as we go. The main purpose for us going to Africa is to go there and exhibit the South African football brand in its purest form. This team play football as I believe it should be played.”
