Dear Safa,
This week, I was reminded of what former president Nelson Mandela said during the 1963 Rivonia Trial.
Mandela told the court: “I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and equal ... It is an ideal for which I hope to live for and to achieve. But, My Lord, if it needs to be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”
