Let me just give you fair warning – following these foodie and chef Instagram accounts will most definitely leave you drooling. It’s undeniable that each of these profiles is full of delightful-looking food and great photos. So, whether you consider yourself a foodie or just a somewhat capable cook, there’s a lot of enjoyment to be had in scrolling through your social media feed and seeing delectable food – whether it be created by chefs (known and unknown) or food bloggers. Here are some IG accounts that might teach you a trick or two in the kitchen.
Clara Jane is a baker, blogger, photographer and dishwasher – the last of which is pretty much 70% of her job behind Baking-Ginger, she says. After finishing her degree in psychology and criminology and not really knowing where to go next with her life, Clara started Baking-Ginger as a creative outlet. Her account and blog baking-ginger.com is where she shares her love for food, photography and everything in between. If you’re looking for tasty and beautiful dessert recipes, this is the account for you.
Georgia East is a writer, food stylist and photographer based in Cape Town. Although she studied to be a wordsmith and is a self-confessed Shakespeare groupie, she has a deep love for food. So much so that she might have been better off with the haute cuisine crowd. Her account documents the creations she makes in her kitchen. She will be releasing a cookbook this year that details the food and the people of the Cape’s west coast. Georgia’s IG is fun and would make anyone believe that they can be a food stylist too.
Last year chef Mogau Seshoene released her cookbook, The Lazy Makoti, which expands on her popular social media account that highlights her interactive, immersive and vibrant style of cooking. Mogau – and her famous heart-shaped red apron –creates beautiful cultural dining experiences in which she takes patrons through the continent’s much-loved and treasured recipes and cuisines.
