On Wednesday at a private media soirée at the Diamond Walk’s plush Arque Bar in Sandton City, Cîroc launched its latest collaboration with Italian fashion house, Moschino.
Hosted by Cîroc brand ambassador Thando Thabethe, the CîrocxMoschino launch made its highly anticipated arrival in South Africa and saw guests being treated to a first-hand experience of luxury at an exclusive pop-up bar.
Elite fashion industry insiders, influencers and renowned celebrities, such as Cassper Nyovest, Nadia Nakai, Nina Hastie, K Naomi, Abigail Visagie, Tshepi Vundla, Tino Chinyani, Mandla Mngomezulu, Quiteria Kekana, Nicole Nyaba, Melody Molale and Siyanda Dzenga were there.
The launch took guests on a journey to Los Angeles where the campaign was shot, before crossing over to the Milan runways, where global campaign influencers including Jasmine Sanders, Wizkid, River Viiperi, Thabethe and Nyovest took the front row to experience the Moschino magic, under the leadership of campaign lead influencer Jeremy Scott.
While guests enjoyed personalised cocktails inspired by Nyovest, Thabethe, WizKid and Scott, Cîroc visually brought the campaign to life with features such as a dramatised chained photo booth and the CîrocxMoschino swing.
The cocktail that became an instant favourite was The Jeremy. A refreshing blend of Cîroc vodka, ginger ale, lime juice, mint Monin syrup, Champagne and sparkling wine, it was quick to run out at the bar and if you’re familiar with Scott, it’s easy to see why his cocktail was in high demand.
The Cassper was undeniably the least popular drink; it looked appealing but on first sip it was hard to keep down. An overly sweet mixture of Cîroc vodka, blue curacao, lemon juice, pineapple juice, Monin coconut syrup and aromatic bitters topped with soda and garnished with a pineapple slice.
The Thando was gentler on the palate with its simpler and refreshing mix of Cîroc vodka, orange liqueur, lime and orange juice topped with a slice of orange and cinnamon stick.
Last but not least was The Wizkid, which also seemed to be a crowd favourite, but that could’ve been because The Jeremy was “out of stock” at the bar. A combination of Cîroc vodka, white vermouth, lime juice, simple syrup and soda water garnished with a cucumber slice was the drink of choice to take things easy and mellow into the evening.
The Cîroc pop-up experience coincided with the kick-start of fashion season with SA Fashion Week taking place just a few floors above us, an occasion that draws Johannesburg’s top fashionistas who were also invited to go and enjoy personalised Cîroc cocktails for the duration of the three-day pop-up bar.
The CîrocxMoschino collaboration is an embodiment of modern luxury and lives up to the hype.
The CîrocxMoschino bottle is a limited edition and is available in limited quantities from April 15 at leading bottle stores across the country.
