Thursday night was filled with celebration at Bay TV as the community channel showed off its revamped studios, courtesy of MultiChoice.

For the past five years, MultiChoice has been upgrading community TV stations Z and the Eastern Cape’s leading community TV station was next in line.

The handover took place at a star-studded event held at Bay TV’s studios in Port Elizabeth. In attendance were various A-listers, including Bay TV chair Motse Mfuleni, MP Tony Duba and Joe Heshu of the MultiChoice Group.

The evening included a live broadcast from the new studios, hosted by Zizo Tshwete who had Duba and Heshu on her talk show.

The venue looked dazzling with dim orange and red lights that gave it an African feel.

Nothing could warm up the audience better than comedian Mbulelo Msongelwa making them laugh till their sides split.

Live entertainment by award-winning Jessica Mbangeni, African song writer Zahara and award winner for Best Afro Pop Album Vusi Nova kept the audience excited and entertained, singing along to songs such as As’phelelanga and Mgodi.
