Alarney-like garden party was held at Beechwood Gardens in Sandton last weekend.

It saw some local celebs and influencers take over this stunningly well-manicured garden, letting loose and capturing as many images as possible.

Why people are so fascinated with capturing a moment and not living in it is one of the modern mysteries of the world.

This exclusive get together was thrown to launch the newest addition to the Tanqueray family, Flor de Sevilla.

Being that Sevilla - better known as Seville – is in Spain, this brand tried its best to bring Spain to Beechwood.

The bubbly Lorna Maseko, acting as host, handled proceedings with grace. She sported a figure-accentuating little orange dress, following the orange theme. Sevilla is famed for its juicy citrus stock.

The Flor de Sevilla is made from Seville oranges and it really does go down quite nicely.

Organisers had placed bars around the large lawn with cabana-like chill areas with comfortable sofas and even a bar that served a cocktail out of what resembled a communal tap built into a fake wall.

People in attendance included actress and deejay Thulisile Phongolo, looking sophisticated and quite beautiful.

Tanqueray brand ambassadors Joe Human and Blue Mbombo (whoever they are) and local funnyman and VEntertainment presenter Sphaka, without any of the Microwave Boys, were also there.

In a secluded corner you could play a small game of croquet, which was a nice touch, as a band churned out some Spanish-sounding music which became a little like karaoke after 20 minutes.

Fortunately, they were stubbed out for Princess The DJ, who put out some funkier-sounding rhythms as the party progressed.

Some promoters shudder at the idea of having City Press at their event and with good reason.

We’re not really with the wackness, but this tranquil Tanqueray shandis was an enjoyable event.
