Signature Lux Foreshore is perfect for the business traveller.

After spending a night at the new Signature Lux Foreshore, I left the Mother City already longing to return. With rates as low as R750 for a night’s stay and breakfast, this price-savvy hotel also serves abundant portions of tasty home-style meals.

Signature Lux caters to the business traveller who wants to feel more at home during their travels. Situated in the busy Cape Town Foreshore, the hotel is less than 1km away from the central business district.

This is the kind of hotel you stay in when looking to strike a balance between budget and fabulous. However, because of its minimalism, you probably won’t want to stay at the Signature Lux for a long time. The rooms have little cupboard space, with just enough to hang up an outfit or two. The room itself has enough space for a day’s work and little for luxury and leisure.

Every floor comes with a quality tea and bean-to-cup coffee station, and there are beverages a few steps away from your hotel room all day.

You feel the hotel’s great personality from the moment you enter the front court, with lively staff and a generous bartender ready to offer a smile and a helping hand.

With the business traveller in mind, the Signature Lux features bold, trendy and colourful wallpaper that breathes a unique freshness to its minimalism; self-service check-in that allows you to walk into the hotel lobby, click a few buttons on a screen and get your room card; the Signature Lux app, which allows you to chat with the hotel staff at any time of the day; and big screens in the lobby to keep you updated about the MyCiTi bus timetable should you wish to catch one of the buses on the route adjacent to the hotel.

The hotel is located 250m from the Cape Town International Convention Centre, 1.5km from the V&A Waterfront, 6km from Table Mountain and only 8km from Camps Bay. It’s central and has high traffic to places of work and leisure.

Signature Lux Foreshore is unapologetically focused on the needs of the business traveller – even one on a budget. Returning to it is a no-brainer, plus R750 for a night’s stay is a really sweet deal.

Moja Love's drug-busting show, Sizokuthola, is back in hot water after its presenter, Xolani Maphanga's assault charges of an elderly woman suspected of dealing in drugs upgraded to attempted murder. In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
