Ntandoyenkosi Kunene was crowned Miss South Africa for 2016 at a glittering event at Carnival City on Saturday evening.

23 year old Kunene from Mpumalanga, said that it was always her hope that one day her name would be called as Miss South Africa.

"As a little girl growing up in the township – modelling around the house and practicing my speech in front of the mirror – I had always hoped, prayed and believed that one day my name would be called as the new Miss South Africa," the overjoyed Kunene said.

Runner-up and First princess went to Elizabeth Molapo while Tayla Skye Robinson was named second princess and also won the swimsuit competition.
