Mad Men’s handsome leading man, John Hamm, turns his talent to espionage in the action flick, Beirut. It is billed as an old-fashioned political thriller with Hamm’s character being brought back into the spy fold to rescue a friend who has been kidnapped.
The film also stars Rosamund Pike, who recently starred in 7 Days In Entebbe and last year’s A United Kingdom.
In 1972 Beirut, American diplomat Mason Skiles (Hamm) hosts a cocktail party accompanied by his wife and Karim, the 13-year old Lebanese orphan (Yoau Saian Rosenberg) whom they hope to adopt.

Ten years later, Mason, now an alcoholic working as a mediator for labour disputes in Boston, gets approached by a stranger in a bar, who hands him a passport, cash and a plane ticket along with an urgent invitation from mutual “friends” that he travel to Beirut.
