Songs to get down to this festive season

accreditation

Our artists worked hard this year to give us songs to dance to this festive season.

Nompumelelo Magagula compiles her list of 10 songs that she thinks will get you in the mood and give you the vibe this December.

IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER, HERE THEY ARE:

DJ Vetkuk, Mahoota featuring Kwesta – Ziwa Murtu

The song was released in June and was taken off Vetkuk and Mahoota’s latest album, Local Everywhere. Its music video takes you straight to the festive season and its beat plus Kwesta’s voice and the whistling are just superb.

King Monada – Malwedhe

The song that got the whole country falling! It is South Africa’s unofficial song of the year. It became popular even before a music video – thanks to the people who posted videos pretending to faint.

Falling over is a thing when this song comes on, whether at weddings, office parties or clubs. Even those who cannot dance Vosho or Thuso Phala dances, find it easy to dance to this song – they just fall.

Mlindo The Vocalist featuring Sfeesoh, Kwesta, Thabsie – Macala

As the song suggests, it is about to go down and we definitely agree. From his hit album, Emakhaya, we definitely love Mlindo’s Macala. Collaborating with vocalists like Thabsie and Sfeesoh was good but hip-hop artist Kwesta was a great idea.

We have a song to dance to this festive season – it is chilled and qualifies to be in the top 10.

Prince Kaybee featuring Busiswa & TNS – Banomoya

First of all there is no Prince Kaybee’s song that is not a club banger. And there is no song that features Busiswa that does not have the vibe. The music video features Lee-ché Janecke’s dancers, so you know it is flames.

It has more than 4 million views on YouTube … numbers do not lie!

AKA featuring Kiddominant – Fela In Versace

You can hate AKA but you cannot hate this song, no matter how much you try because you cannot deny a good thing. Featuring Nigerian producer and singer Kiddominant, AKA definitely made a hit out of this song.

His Touch My Blood album is everything, Fela In Versace, in particular. The track is rhythmic and gives good vibes. I have not attended one event and came back home with it not being played.

DJ Sumbody featuring Cassper Nyovest, Thebe & Vettis – Monate Mpolaye

Ayepyep hit-maker DJ Sumbody gives us another great song, a fire song and there’s need to sweat when dancing to it. Cassper fits in perfectly in every genre in which he involves himself.

No lie but most of us thought the track was Cassper’s song because he just gives it that push.

The song is so dope you find yourself dancing from the first beat. The track has touches of kwaito, amapiano and bacardi that make it so dope.

DJ Maphorisa, DJ Raybel featuring Moonchild Sanelly, K.O, Zulu Mkhathini – iWalk Ye Phara

Gqom is indisputably the greatest genre of music and this song fits in as the greatest song. The energy it brings just does not allow you to sit down. Gqom newbie Thandeka “TDK Macassette” Mkhwanazi once claimed that DJ Maphorisa stole the song from her and he denied the allegations.

But, besides its controversy, it is a party completer and brings everyone together on the dance floor. It is a must-dance-to this festive season.

Master KG featuring Zanda Zakuza – Skeleton Move

This is one impressive song that will have you dancing the head Vosho or making a plan even if you cannot dance. You can, without any doubt, listen to this song from one place to another without seeing the need to skip it.

Malumz On Decks & Gino Brown featuring Mr Vince – Shay’inumber

It is an absolute banger! The track was produced by Gino Brown, has great instruments and good vocals by Mr Vince. The duo have never disappointed since their debut album, The Journey. The track was on the top five of the most-played songs on radio and it is doing great on the charts on television channels.

Sun-EL Musician featuring Simmy & Lelo Kamau – Sonini

Sun-EL definitely deserves a spot on our list. He shot to fame with his famous hit, Akanamali, and he is still doing the most. We appreciate him, his hard work and his music. This is a beautiful track and it will get us losing ourselves on the dance floor.
