What is your opinion on New Year’s fitness resolutions and do you think they work?

I don’t believe in them, rather set daily, weekly and monthly resolutions.

Why do you think people keep or break the resolution/s?

You need to want to exercise.

What is your opinion of dieting? Does it work or not?

I don’t think people should diet. Eating healthily needs to be a lifestyle.

Think about your goal often, programme your subconscious, don’t be hard on yourself.

What four basic workouts can one do to stay consistent?

Lunges, sit-ups, mountain climbers and skipping.

For home fitness, what basic equipment would you advise people to invest in?

A yoga mat, skipping rope, ab wheel and some resistance bands.

What has been the greatest lesson you have learnt about/with fitness?

You are always stronger than you think, you can hold on and keep going a little longer.

They are hard to maintain. Fitness is a lifestyle that requires realistic and consistent work.

Setting unrealistic goals, a lack of vision and comparing their journey with someone else’s.

It depends. When you have consulted a professional nutritionist, yes. It can work.

Trust your journey. Go at your own pace. Try finding people with similar goals.

They work only if you do.

Expecting to be a professional from the get-go. You don’t need that kind of pressure.

It depends. If you believe that dieting is eating a balanced meal then you cannot go wrong.

Any advice for anyone failing to stay consistent?

Take it one day at a time. Routine helps you to stay consistent. Own your pace.

What four basic workouts can one do to stay consistent?

Skipping, jump squats, crunches and some burpees.

Nothing worth having is easy to obtain.

They can work, depending on how dedicated and disciplined you are.

They, or rather we, are ill-disciplined.

What is your opinion of dieting? Does it work or not?

A good eating plan can work if you’re strict about not eating junk food.

Any advice for anyone failing to stay consistent?

Don’t be moved by group workouts, do it for youself and be self-motivated at all times.

Jogging, lunges (my favourite), squats and crunches.

A bench and the kettlebell.

When you have an illness, don’t just stop, do something simple.
