In anticipation of being roasted about his on-off relationship with baby mama DJ Zinhle, AKA has already put a stop on anything to do with his family.

Following the successful and highest-rated South African roast to date, The Roast of Somizi, it was announced on Thursday that hip-hop artist Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, was set to face the hot seat in February at The Comedy Central Roast of AKA.

But, speaking on Metro FM’s DJ Fresh Breakfast show, AKA set boundaries – and family was a no-go area.

The award-winning rapper had a great year with his third studio album, Touch My Blood, going platinum and his collaboration with Cruz to create AKA Watermelon vodka, launched earlier this year.

Without any doubt, AKA’s roast will be the baddest one because we know that he is vocal and quick to put people back in their lanes and claps back on the Twitter streets like nobody’s business.

A while back the rapper called out fake fans in a series of tweets, saying a majority of his fans were fake and they walk around like heowes them. His fans also know that they dare not ask for a picture with him if they cannot prove their support.

Lest we forget the day his rival Cassper Nyovest shared a video of him [AKA] assaulting a fan after he [Cassper] alleged AKA slapped him.

And he is quick to throw fans’ phones off stage when he feels disturbed while performing.

This just shows that the Feather Awards’ 2018 Drama Queen of the Year winner has zero composure.

Right, now that we have gone down memory lane and reminded ourselves of some of his drama, we cannot wait to see the official list of the panel that will roast him. Some of the people he said he wanted to be on the roasting panel included Somizi and Pearl Thusi.

Some celebrities we thought might make it to his panel had this to say:

Nomzamo Mbatha – Actress

“My goodness with all the talk the Somizi roast created, I’m not sure I’d jump right back into it so soon. But with Kiernan I’d do it. I roast him every time I see him. About anything and everything. I’ve jabbed him to silence a few times. This is going to be a big one. The fun thing is that he doesn’t take himself seriously. He’s a fun, light person underneath that mega ego.”

Khanyisa Bunu – Comedian

“AKA has got bodyguards, I feel like he’s got double standards because I see him all the time on his videos at Cape Flats without bodyguards and being buddy-buddy with Cape Flats’ people. He must drop the double standards.”

Tall Ass Mo – Comedian

“I’d definitely roast the hell out of him but I cannot just give you the roast now ... what if I am part of the roast? If I have to diss him, it has to be on a proper setting.” Mxm!

Joey Rasdien – Comedian

“Yes I would take it and mebeing there is a jab in itself innit.” Pshhh!

John Vlismas – Comedian

“AKA – also known as ANC-Kept-Artist. He’s like his vodka – same basic product with a little squirt of artificial flavouring.”

Deep Fried Man – Comedian

“AKA prayed to God and asked for the music talent of Kanye West and the humility of a street corner busker. Unfortunately, God got it the wrong way round.”

Schalk Bezuidenhout – Comedian

“YES, YES, YES. I want to roast him. I will be saving my jabs if I am chosen.” Mxm!

We cannot wait for February 21 to experience the litness and the uncensored savage roast that will take place at The Teatro, Montecasino. Experience it all live by buying the ticket or witness it on Showmax.

Moja Love's drug-busting show, Sizokuthola, is back in hot water after its presenter, Xolani Maphanga's assault charges of an elderly woman suspected of dealing in drugs upgraded to attempted murder. In 2023, his predecessor, Xolani Khumalo, was nabbed for the alleged murder of a suspected drug dealer. What's your take on this?
