South Africans will soon be faced with an important decision: reward the ANC for its callous indifference and chronic failure by giving it another five years in power, or voting for change and charting a new course for the country under a DA-led government.

The only way to hold the ANC to account is by voting them out of power.

The ANC Is Killing Us billboard is a commemoration sign; it is there to remind us of the lives that have been lost due to the current governments lack of accountability.

The names placed on the billboard ensure that we do not forget their names, because these victims were not just victims, they were individuals, mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters.

The names on the billboard are those who died at Marikana, both miners and security personnel, the named victims of the Life Esidimeni tragedy, and children who drowned after falling into pit latrines.

There are many, many more names that could be added to the billboard, all individuals killed due to government failure.

These include the 56 people who are murdered every day in South Africa; the 210 commuters killed in rail accidents since 2015; the more than 135 000 people who have lost their lives due to road crashes; or the 499 cancer patients who have died waiting for treatment in KwaZulu-Natal due to the oncology crisis caused by that provincial health departments.

Real change can only be implemented by a DA-led Government. I therefore urge you to make the right decision by choosing DA this coming 2019 elections.

Solly Msimanga is DA Gauteng premier candidate
