The misconception that if you question faith you are either an atheist or demon-possessed perpetuates the scamming of gullible Christians by corrupt pastors, writes Revhanalo Ndivhuwo

The advent of money-hungry charlatans and the swelling of profitable ranks in the Christian faith by motivational speakers masquerading as men and women of God has obliged me to write this article and draw the attention of gullible Christians to the covert operations of these scoundrels.

Deception, the love of money and the increase of knowledge have become a reality in our age.

This world will always be fraught with cunning, corrupt, selfish, jealous and dishonest people who claim to have a particularly chummy relationship with our Heavenly Father.

What do pastors and politicians have in common? They both plunder the poor; they belong to the same WhatsApp group.

You will always be made to work on infertile soil, while those who exploit you plough up fecund soil.

You are made to believe that giving away 10% of your hard-earned salary to someone who claims to be a servant of God will someday open the windows of heaven for you and things will be all right.

You tithe faithfully, but in all honesty your life seems to be on a treadmill.

As preposterous as it seems, mainline churches do not grow as rapidly as their charismatic counterparts. Do you know why?

The world is full of atheists, yet daily they’re seeing the windows of heaven opening for them.

Do you know why?

You wake up every morning, sometimes on a cold, windy and scorching day, and work hard to financially support someone whose lifestyle you can only dream of, let alone match.

Do you know why? Because pastors, through you, have already reached the land “flowing with milk and honey”, but for you it is still far away and, by the look of things, is unreachable.

If foolishness were as costly as wisdom there would be no fools in this world and we would all respect each other as God’s equal creatures, but most unfortunately, people who claim to be successful thrive on the foolishness of others.

No, don’t be surprised, that’s how things work in this jungle called Earth.

I’m a devout Christian.

However, I’ve realised that all religions, including my beloved Christianity, have one thing in common – they don’t allow critical interrogation by their adherents.

There is a popular misconception that if you question faith you are either an atheist or you are demon-possessed.

The world has taught me that ignorance is not only expensive, but dangerous as well.

The false premise that tithing opens the windows of heaven must be laid bare. No wonder the teaching thereof is often dyspeptic and unintelligible.

I know there are people who pretend that tithing works for them, however, deep down they know the opposite is true.

Many Christians are like that: even if it doesn’t work, they pretend that it does.

They find it hard to say: “Pastor, please stay out of my salary.” Tithing authorises pastors to share in your hard work.

As you probably know, there is a yawning schism between prosperity gospel (evangelitainment) preachers and preachers of righteousness and the unchanging truth of the gospel, owing to the love of money that has soiled faith.

I call tithing a scam in that it has brought about the so-called prosperity gospel, which is more dangerous than any radiological dispersal device or pathogen.

No matter how long you’ve been keeping the Bible by the bedside, I’m afraid if you don’t use your mind and the spirit of discernment that God bestowed on you, there’s nothing that even God can do for you.

In truth, you’re on your own.

Those who are conversant with the scriptures will recall that it took the prodigal son to live and work among the pigs before he came to his senses and decided to return to his father.

You can either free yourself from this ordained trauma or viciously perish from it. It’s time to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

The rapture of the true church is imminent. The Antichrist is buffing his boots and is poised to enter the world.

I hope this piece of writing will help renew your commitment to God and to the Lord Jesus Christ, and obliterate all superstition and hearsay.
