City Press’ personal finance writer wins award for excellence

accreditation

City Press personal finance writer Maya Fisher-French has taken home the Sanlam Award for excellence in financial journalism for the second year in a row in the consumer financial education category.

This is her fourth win in the category for her work in City Press since 2012.

The City Press Money Makeover competition, which has run for three series across City Press platforms and is gearing up for series four, has changed the lives of the participating City Press readers. With the support of Absa, City Press selects six readers a year to participate in the six-month long financial bootcamp and the results are always financial freedom.

You can listen to the podcast with 2018’s Money Makeover winner, Samke, got out of debt in six months.

The award also recognises Fisher-French’s weekly personal finance pages in City Press and her TV work, Money Matters, on eNCA.
