The NBA Africa Game came to a dramatic end when Team Africa were defeated by Team World 108-97 at the The Dome in Johannesburg last night.
The game started with Team World dominating the proceedings from the onset. When the first quarter ended, the Africans were trailing 19-33.
Utah Jazz star Thabo Sefolosha led by example for Team Africa as he scored from a distance to make it 25 for his team.
The Africans side looked like coming back into the game when the score was 31-35, but Kristaps Porzingis extended the score for Team World from close range to 37.
Team Africa finally levelled matters when the score was 37-37. They were 50-47 at interval.
Team World started the second half well with Charlotte Hornets star Kemba Walker scoring. Dirk Nowitzki of Dallas Mavericks put the score to 61 before Sefolosha equalised for Africans.
Towards the end, Team Africa chased the game again.
Sefolosha gave the Africans hope of equalising when he put the team at 86. Team Africa continued with the fight when Gorgui Dieng scored twice. The game stayed at 88-93 with Team World leading until another time-out.
Team Africa continued to dominate the game, but they wasted too many chances. Dieng scored another one to put his team to 90.
Nowitzki netted his defensive brilliance when he denied Emmanuel Mudiay of Denver Nuggets scoring chances.
