Friday was filled with celebration, as Wakanda came to Montecasino. Celebrities put their best feet forward, walking the blue carpet in their finest African-inspired attire.

Rhodé Marshall lists her favourite looks that celebrate being us at the premiere of Black Panther.

Zulu royalty: One of the most spectacular moments in the film is hearing Wololo by Babes Wodumo in one of the scenes. This look shows how beautiful Babes looks in traditional attire. That West Side look isn’t for this gqom queen.
Train gang: Tumi Voster is tiny, as was the blue carpet, which the train of her Khosi Nkosi dress filled. This was one of the more beautiful ensembles on the night. I’m not sure how she sat in the cinema though.
Respect the doek: Dineo Ranaka’s doek creation, wrapped and styled by the radio host herself, was perfectly intact. Her partner was probably the best-dressed man too. There’s nothing cheesy over here, just a fabulous crown.
Spain meets Africa: Khosi Nkosi created the perfect flamenco dress in African print for Thando Thabethe. The design balances the perfect amount of colour with puff.
Regal thespian: This has to be one of Dineo Moeketsi’s best red carpet looks. Her makeup is simple, allowing the print and design of the dress to come alive. I love her statement neckpiece too – it’s striking, but doesn’t overwhelm.
Xhosa queen: One of the best looks was Thembisa Mdoda’s beautifully layered Xhosa ensemble. It had the most amazing, shifting white beaded overlay that made her skirt pop.
To infinity... Radio and TV personality Pabi Moloi dazzled in this Rich Factory infinity jumpsuit. A subtle, but eye-catching look.
