Just in time for Garden Day comes Candide, a gardening app for all those out there with green fingers. It’s a location-based, community app where you can share images of your prettiest plants (and gets “digs” instead of “likes”) and view other user pics.

Features include getting your gardening questions answered, either by other users or experts who use Candide. These include master botanist, horticulturist, author, mentor and naturalist supreme Ernst van Jaarsveld; Anja Taschner from Ludwig’s Roses; horticulturist, citrus specialist and avid home gardener Veggieman; and Gundula Deutschlander, a professional gardener at Babylonstoren.

Although I found the app to be easy to use, I wasn’t that keen on scrolling through people’s gardening snaps and lost interest. However, I can see how serious gardeners will find plenty of joy using this.

The more you interact – following users, asking questions and browsing the advice boards – the more you will get out of it. Happy apping.
