Cape Town - Toyota leads the way in the luxury SUV market during February 2017, reports Naamsa
The Toyota Prado outsold the Land Cruiser 200 by one solitary unit (103 vs. 102) to give the Japanese automaker a clear lead over its closest rival.
These two models are also the only ones to register triple digit figures.
Land Rover giving chase
Jaguar Land Rover South Africa had another strong month, with the Range Rover/Range Rover Sport in third registering 71 units for the automaker, followed by the Land Rover Discovery 4 (65) and Jaguar F-Pace (59).
The big and brass Jeep Grand Cherokee found 44 new owners, followed closely by the Volvo XC90 in seventh. Porsche only sold 36 Cayenne's in eighth place, leading the Volkswagen Group's charge ahead of the Audi Q7 (30 units) and VW Touareg (20) in tenth.
BMW X5, X6 exclusion
Naamsa says: BMW SA, with effect from February 1 2017, will report one aggregate sales number in respect of passenger car sales in the South African Market. BMW SA will review its decision provided all reporting companies report new vehicle sales numbers by market segment, vehicle type and channel (dealer sales, government sales, car rental sales and single units).
