Employment and Labour Minister Thulas Nxesi has announced that, under level 3 national lockdown restrictions, employees have a right to refuse to work if they believe that the necessary precautions have not been put in place by their employers to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
Nxesi said this at the national command council economic cluster’s briefing on Friday. He said in consultation with all the social partners at Nedlac, they had drafted amendments to the directive issued on the April 29 when lockdown restrictions were moved to level 4.
