Wit ous, Stitch Up Shaun and Facebook

Friday morning. It’s been a mad week, courtesy of Stitch Up Shaun, the National Director of Private Persecutions (that’s National Director of Public Prosecutions Shaun Abrahams to you), a dose of flu and the latest bout of Facebook racism by another Durban Muppet with no brains and too much data.

All I want to do is curl up in bed with a copy of former public protector Thuli Madonsela’s state capture report.

I’ve been trying to read it since it was released after the Commander in Chief (that’s President Jacob Zuma to you) withdrew his bid in court to stop the report from being released.

I guess the Big Lahnee had no choice, especially after Shaun dropped the charges against Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and former SA Revenue Service bosses Oupa Magashula and Ivan Pillay.

I’m not sure who advised the CIC to use Shaun to go for Gordhan to get him out of the way for a Gupta-bought and paid-for finance minister.

It must have been Edward (Zuma’s son and defender), or somebody else with a serious taste for karate water, because it was a big flop.

Anybody who knows Gordhan from the 1980s, when he was the brains behind the Durban civic movement, which brought the city to a halt, or from the ANC underground operations of the 1990s, would be aware that he is not the kind of guy to mess around with.

Gordhan is witty and charming and all that, but he’s a hard man with impeccable political street-fighting skills who survived everything the Nats could throw at him.

Stick your finger in his eye and you’re likely to lose an arm. If you’re lucky. In a political sense, of course.

Back to Friday. Shaun is on the box, lying through his teeth in defence of his decision to charge Gordhan. Good luck, son.

I start getting ready to head for the Bluff, the Durban Deep South, in search of a racist bastard called Hennie something or other to find out why he had to take a dump through his mouth and spew his venom into the cybersphere because the city’s 500 000-plus Hindu community exercised their constitutional right to celebrate the festival of Diwali.

What is it with wit ous and Facebook?

Why the need to spew hatred at your fellow human beings who have done nothing to you? Why not shut up and get on with your life, and allow others to get on with theirs? What’s so difficult about that?
